Winter Stony Creek Engagement Session

So it might be winter, but this winter Stony Creek engagement session was anything but. When Sara and Sean contacted me about photographing their wedding, one of the things they mentioned they wanted was an engagement session with snow. As all of us from Michigan know, we had two massive snow storms right in a row recently. Then freezing temperatures to keep the white blanket on the ground. It was looking like my couple was going to get their wish. However, us Michiganders know the weather here NEVER does what you want and it’s super unpredictable. It ended up being almost 50 degrees the few days leading up to their session. Which means the over a foot of snow was almost completely melted!!!

It’s the day of, we get to Stony Creek and realize not only is there a decent amount of snow left in spots, it was almost 50 and the sun came down to shine for us and gave us the magical glow I love! It ended up being the perfect day for the shoot!

Sara and Sean were so much fun to work with. They were such great sports trekking through the snow, ice, and all the mud the melted snow left behind. Their winter Stony Creek engagement session was also my first of the year and my first after having Kingsley. It was hard leaving him, but it was so nice getting out with my camera again! I can’t wait for Sara and Sean’s wedding in November!

Here are a few more engagement sessions at Stony Creek Metropark for you to check out: Karen and Tyler, Maddy and Kade
