New Orleans Inspired Detroit Wedding

This is it. The phrase that Rebecca’s mom used over and over again in her toast at Rebecca and Ben’s New Orleans inspired Detroit wedding. The first time Rebecca told her parents about Ben, Jean (Rebecca’s mom) knew this it it. When she met Ben for the first time, she knew this is it. When she visited Rebecca and Ben in Nicaragua. Ben was teaching surf lessons and making music and Rebecca was being her amazing chef self cooking all the delicious food! Jean knew this is it! The two of them fit together so incredibly well you’d think they were literally made for each other. Anyone who has spent any amount of time with them together can see that. From the first time I met them to their engagement session in Downtown Detroit I knew they were perfect for each other.

Rebecca and Ben are anything but traditional, that is a huge compliment to the two of them. They beat to their own drum and are unapologetically themselves! They have a this lust for life that I haven’t seen in many people. Their wedding was no different! They wanted to make it as much about their friends and family as possible. They wanted to enjoy the time they had with all the amazing people that flew in from all around the country just to spend time with them. There was probably less than 15 people actually from Michigan! That goes to show you how much these two are loved! One of my favorite parts of the day was the impromptu New Orleans inspired parade from the ceremony to the reception along the streets of Detroit. It was complete with instruments of all kinds and lots of dancing!!! The fun didn’t stop there! Once we got the reception, dinner was served by two incredibly delicious food trucks!

Rebecca and Ben, I had soo much fun photographing your wedding day! I feel so honored that you trusted me to capture you in your element with all your amazing friends and family! I couldn’t have asked for a sweeter couple to hang out with for 8+ hours 🙂
