Fall Great Lakes Culinary Center Wedding

This fall I had the opportunity to photograph a beautiful wedding for one of my couples Kristen and Jake. Their Great Lakes Culinary Center wedding was filled with so much life and personality that made it truly unforgettable. From Luna their adorable pup making an appearance, to s’mores at the end of the night to give a nod to their cozy winter engagement session, every detail of this wedding was special. I can’t wait for you to see the pictures!

Kristen and her bridesmaids had so much fun getting ready for the big day. A chill music filled morning led to Kristen being the most amazing bride. She was stunning in her dress. Before taking portraits the girls decided to pop over to Urbanrest Brewery, and raise a glass of wine in celebration. What better way for them to kick off the special day? After clinking glasses and capturing some cute photos we stopped at this hidden gem in the middle of nowhere. An ivy covered wall on the side of a random building. Excuse me, what?!? Yes you heard me right! Let me tell you the photos turned out incredible. Trust me when I say we can make magic out of anything and you don’t need the most picturesque location to have incredible photos. Just scroll and you will see. We can’t forget about Jake. After taking some “normal” photos at the golf course for his wedding day, Jake and the guys decided it would be fun to pose on the golf carts for a few more fun shots!

A Great Lakes Culinary Center wedding is beautiful! They have this incredibly gorgeous garden. Kristen walked down the long winding aisle of the garden while Jake kept his back turned until she was feet from him. He couldn’t help but well up with tears when he turned around. Once Kristen was down the aisle, even though it’s not traditional, they gave each other the biggest hug. This just goes to show, it’s your wedding! Do whatever you want. I loved that they were so excited to see each other they just couldn’t help but fall into each other’s arms. They were surrounded by family and friends, who were also treated to stunning decor featuring beautiful burnt orange and white flowers with lots of greenery from LJ Bloom Floral. And let’s not forget about Luna, the couple’s adorable pup who joined in on all the fun! Of course we had to get some shots of her too; she looked so cute with her floral collar!

After the Ceremony we made sure to get tons of Luna pics, then we headed off to Art Rock Garden in Southfield Michigan. I had never been there before, but it was perfection. I fell in love, it was like no place I had ever seen in Michigan. With its mountain-like landscape, Art Rock Garden provided us with plenty of backdrops that added an extra bit of wonderment to our photos. I think it’s safe to say that this spot was definitely one for the books.

The reception space for their Great Lakes Culinary Center wedding was magical. It was adorned with sage and gold and peach with all the greenery and candles you could imagine. To top off the look, the venue has covered the whole ceiling in hanging edison bulbs to give the space the most romantic glow. The night was filled with so much love and laughter. These two are so laid back and some of the most fun people I have had the pleasure of working with. We ended the night with glowing pictures in the garden. Since that was also lit up with beautiful edison bulbs. However, we couldn’t fully end the night without having Kristen and Jake make a s’more. At their engagement session Kristen had the fun idea to make s’mores so we had to bring it back around for their wedding!

Thank you so much Kristen & Jake for letting me be part of your special day. It was an honor capturing such precious moments between you two! Congrats again on tying the knot you two lovebirds! 🙂
