I love Detroit weddings, they are some of my absolute favorite. Something about the city just feels sophisticated and full of life. So I was so excited when Jordan and Kyle trusted me to capture their intimate Detroit wedding downtown. I first met the two of them over a zoom call and we just instantly clicked! We chatted about how they met, their wedding day plans and just life stuff. It was obvious how much they loved each other. Jordan had this whole vision for their engagement session. That’s why the Edsel and Eleanor Ford House was the perfect backdrop to capture Jordan’s fairytale inspired session. During their session I got to see them open up and interact with each other. I felt like we really got to know each other and I got to know them as a couple. All of this made taking pictures on their wedding day make them feel so much more natural and comfortable in front of the camera. That is one of the biggest reasons I encourage all my couples to take advantage of an engagement session. It really helps lessen the nerves and makes us feel more like friends and not a stranger that you meet for the first time on your wedding day.
Jordan and Kyle planned an Intimate Detroit wedding for their closest friends at Bea’s Detroit. An adorable intimate Detroit wedding venue downtown that has unfortunately closed its doors. They are still making the most incredibly delicious lemonade under the name Bea’s Squeeze. I got to try the lavender lemonade at Jordan and Kyle’s reception and WOW! It was phenomenal. We ran all around downtown getting pictures of these two after the sweetest first look at Kyle’s getting ready space at Sondor the Randolph Downtown. Jordan looked stunning in her floral lace overlay gown and her delicate pearl laden veil! Everything about their day was so unique to them.
All of Jordan and Kyle’s closest friends and family gathered around them while they said I do. Originally outside on the roof was the plan, but mother nature had other ideas. It was still the most magical ceremony as the room was teeming with anticipation and excitement. Once the I do’s were said everyone headed downstairs for an amazing buffet of tacos by Cutting Edge Cuisine. No matter whether you are having an intimate Detroit wedding or a large party with 200 people choose the food you love. You are not obligated to choose chicken, steak, or fish. If you want barbeque do that. If you want tacos do that. I’ve had couples do food trucks, the sky’s the limit, It’s your day!
I had so much fun with Jordan and Kyle for their intimate Detroit wedding. I can not thank them enough for trusting me with their day. I really hope I get to keep serving more couples like you in the future!
