Detroit Zoo Engagement Session | Alyssa and Nick

WE WENT TO THE ZOO!!!! Alyssa and Nick’s Detroit Zoo engagement session was seriously one of the most fun sessions I have shot! We took pictures with penguins and polar bears, who gets to say that about their engagement photos! These two have been going to the Detroit Zoo regularly for a long time now. So when they suggested doing them at the Zoo I was over the moon excited! Not only was it going to be a super unique and fun session, but it was meaningful and special to Alyssa and Nick as a couple. If you’ve been around here for a while you know that I believe that is the best type of engagement session. Choosing something important to you two!

Getting to this day was a little bit of a bumpy road. We originally had it planned for the end of April, but life got in the way. Unfortunately, my family got sick then I got it the worst (thankfully not COVID). So we rescheduled for a month later. On Alyssa’s BIRTHDAY!!! It could not have worked out better. Then the rain happened, for a week leading up to their rescheduled Detroit Zoo engagement session the forecast called for rain ALL DAY! We weren’t going to let that stop us though. We brought too many umbrellas, rain boots, and made the best of it. The one positive about the day being rained out there was barely anyone in the park. Meaning we got the majority of the buildings to ourselves to get the best shots. The polar bears and the penguins came out to play!

I even got the chance to activate my zoo membership my sister gifted us so Wade and I could take Kingsley to the zoo whenever we want! It even came with a little stuffed bear. Of course I chose the polar bear 🙂 Kingsley was ecstatic when I gave it to him and has already been carrying it everywhere he goes! Alyssa and Nick I had a blast walking around the park for your Detroit Zoo engagement session even if it was raining. Happy belated birthday again! I can’t wait for your DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Port Huron wedding this October!
